A Message from the Founder

me.png

Araw was born from my deep love for the Philippines, a place that holds meaning, love, and so much inspiration.

I created Araw to fill a gap in the smaller-chested swimwear market, as I felt smaller-chested women were overlooked in the swimwear industry.

At Araw, swimwear should do more than just fit. It should empower. It should celebrate your uniqueness, inspire your confidence, and offer something that feels like it was truly made for you.

Our connection to our roots goes deeper than design. We are committed to giving back to the Filipino community by supporting local artisans, practising responsibility in everything we do, and honouring the craft, culture, and people who inspire us daily.

Thank you for being part of this journey.

With love,

Emily Richardson

About Araw

Araw was created from the founder Emily Richardson’s love of the Philippines and her desire to create swimwear that empowers and honours individuality. Emily struggled to find flattering, comfortable swimwear that fitted perfectly for smaller-chested women. She saw an opportunity to redefine the swimwear industry, designing pieces that embody individuality and effortless beauty while helping women feel confident and comfortable by the water.

More than just a swimwear brand, Araw is a brand that honours the Philippines’ warmth and vibrant culture, a heritage close to Emily’s heart. Meaning “sun” in Tagalog (one of the native languages of the Philippines), Araw encapsulates the multiple islands and their vibrant qualities. However, the connection to our roots runs deeper than aesthetics, as we are committed to giving back to the Filipino community by supporting local artisans, responsible practices, and initiatives honouring the craft, culture, and people who inspire us.

At Araw, we believe swimwear should do more than just fit; it should empower. It should celebrate uniqueness, inspire confidence, and allow every woman to find something truly made for her.
